Tre Nelson serves as Founder of Nelson Network Advisors, where he provides government affairs and strategic advisory services focused on navigating complex federal and state policy environments. He specializes in developing strategies at the crossroads of healthcare, economic development, and government policy. His work focuses on advancing sustainable growth and expanding access in rural health markets.
Prior to founding Nelson Network Advisors, Tre served as Federal Deputy Director of Health Policy at The Picard Group, where he led federal strategy and client engagement across a portfolio of multi-state healthcare organizations. In this role, he worked closely with executive leadership teams to advance policy priorities related to Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, rural health, and federal funding structures, while building relationships with congressional offices and federal agencies.
Before his time in Washington, Tre served as Director of Economic Development and Community Initiatives at Ochsner Health, where he led economic development, community outreach, and government affairs efforts across multiple regions in Louisiana. His work focused on expanding healthcare access, supporting the development of new facilities, and aligning healthcare delivery with broader community and economic development strategies.
Tre also held roles at Baton Rouge General Health System, supporting strategic community initiatives and government relations, including efforts to coordinate with state and federal officials to reopen critical emergency services.
He remains actively engaged in community leadership and serves on the Northwestern State University Foundation Board of Directors. Tre has been recognized as a 2022 Top 40 Under 40 Business Honoree by the Baton Rouge Business Report and as one of the 100 Most Influential Black Men in Baton Rouge.
He earned his MBA from Louisiana State University Shreveport and holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the Louisiana Scholars’ College at Northwestern State University, as well as a Certificate in Corporate Citizenship from Boston College.
